Ayaka Oshita, winner of the 96th Soen Award, presented her Spring/Summer 2026 collection “Metamorphose” at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo with Global Fashion Collective. The collection featured 15 looks exploring transformation and emotional liberation.
Key design elements included feather-like silhouettes, loose ribbons, torn fabrics, ivy-inspired embroidery, and wing-like details, evoking imagery of growth, change, and emergence. Several pieces incorporated floral motifs sprouting from fabric gaps, emphasizing the theme of breaking through boundaries.
Handwork played a significant role in the collection, with intricate details such as hundreds of sequins carefully applied to the garments. The designs combined delicate embellishments with symbolic references to nature, emotion, and metamorphosis.
