RI-NASCIMENTO: l’eccellenza trionfa a Milano con Cuoio di Toscana e Diego Dolcini

On September 24th, at the restaurant Da Giacomo Arengario in Milan, the second edition of RI-NASCIMENTO took place, the event with which the Consorzio Cuoio di Toscana celebrated its 40 years of artisanal excellence. At the center of the evening was the preview of the new Opanka for women, the result of a collaboration with designer Diego Dolcini, which continued the stylistic path inaugurated by the men’s version, bringing together tradition, innovation, and sustainability.

The women’s shoe, crafted with the traditional Opanka technique that merges sole and upper into a single element, represented the perfect balance between craftsmanship and contemporary vision. The collection featured eight color variations in nappa and laminated leather and introduced GAIT-TECH® technology, a patented biomechanical device that ensured comfort and stability without compromising aesthetics.

The evening also included a talk moderated by Fabiana Giacomotti, fashion historian and curator of Il Foglio della Moda, with the participation of Antonio Quirici, Diego Dolcini, and Daniele Calcaterra, dedicated to the excellence of Made in Italy, the value of innovation, and the strength of tradition.

“Our goal was to transform tradition into a contemporary language, creating authentic, sustainable products projected into the future,” commented Antonio Quirici, President of Cuoio di Toscana.

“Collaborating with Cuoio di Toscana meant bringing together creativity and technique in a continuous dialogue between past and future. The new Opanka for women proved that elegance and innovation could walk hand in hand,” stated Diego Dolcini.

On this occasion, the CDT Prize was awarded to Calcaterra, a brand that this year celebrated 10 years in the Camera Moda calendar, further strengthening the link between creativity, responsibility, and talent.

The shoes featured in the fashion show were made with Cuoio di Toscana’s iconic green sole, sealing the encounter between artisanal excellence, stylistic experimentation, and sustainability—values that have guided the Consortium for 40 years.

“Receiving the CDT Prize in this setting was a recognition that went beyond design: it celebrated the commitment to sustainability and the pursuit of new languages in the fashion system,” affirmed Daniele Calcaterra, who was awarded during the evening.
