Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada (b. 1960) is a leading Spanish designer whose career spans over four decades, starting in 1981 at the LOCAL design center in Madrid, and subsequently featuring on major fashion capitals worldwide. Her creations are considered a means of artistic expression, exhibited in galleries and museums globally, and her work is preserved and promoted by the Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada Foundation, established in 2011.
A prolific collaborator, she has partnered with numerous artists and over 100 companies, extending her distinctive aesthetic recognized with prestigious honors like the National Fashion Design Award and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts across fashion, home goods, perfumery, and public design projects. Her latest work, to be presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid on September 18th, is a unique and bold demonstration of her commitment to innovation: her first-ever collection designed with Artificial Intelligence, promising a reinvention of her iconic shapes and burst of color through technology.
