Alessandra Facchinetti’s Fall 2005 Gucci collection steps into the space defined by Tom Ford but with a shift in direction. The show opens with a military-inspired lineup sharp Napoleonic collars, oversized taffeta blousons, and reissued tight pants that nod to Ford’s era. Black-on-black floral embroideries and velvet details add a dark, almost Russian-inspired layer to the designs.
The mood evolves as Facchinetti introduces Victorian and Empire-era influences. High-neck dresses with bold cutouts, off-the-shoulder chiffon pieces, and tightly fitted jersey accents aim for a more intimate and poetic feel. The collection also features a standout red carpet gown, its Empire-line silhouette wrapped in a spangled tulle web.
