For Spring/Summer, Giambattista Valli drew inspiration from Dutch Masters’ still lifes and Vermeer’s domestic interiors, exploring the home as sanctuary and the interplay of light and shadow.
The runway translated this mood into material and form: raw canvas juxtaposed with sheer chiffon, natural tones accented by subtle nuances, and silhouettes that balanced structure with fluidity. Minimalist pieces canvas minidresses layered over crisp shirts, rust poplin shirts paired with cotton skirt-trousers coexisted with breezier, more elaborate garments: billowing organza robes, midriff-baring pastel tops, tiered evening gowns, and airy balloon-sleeved dresses.
Prints and detailing echoed Flemish motifs floral sprigs, baskets of strawberries, embroidered aprons while styling remained restrained, with flat shoes, bare necks, and simple accessories. Across the collection, proportion, texture, and layering guided a dialogue between simplicity and ornamentation, resulting in a cohesive presentation of light, movement, and craftsmanship.
