For the fall 2026 collection at Bottega Veneta, Louise Trotter placed a strong emphasis on texture and surface experimentation, particularly fabrics with a “hairy” or tactile appearance.
The lineup explored a wide range of materials, including fuzzy knits, hand-tinted shearling, fil coupé textiles, silken threads, and textured leather, with surfaces ranging from smooth and combed to deliberately rough and voluminous. Outerwear played a central role, especially structured coats and leather trenches, many designed with pronounced texture and sculptural form.
Tailoring focused on elongated jackets with rounded shoulders and full sleeves, often engineered to open and reveal short skirts or wide trousers underneath. Silhouettes emphasized volume and curved structure, while still maintaining a sense of lightness through material construction.
