Bella Freud presented her Spring/Summer 1998 collection during London Fashion Week with a mix of feminine tailoring, sailor influences, and playful sensuality.
The collection featured suits, vests, slip dresses, wrap dresses, pencil skirts, and mini shorts, balancing structured dandy-inspired silhouettes with sheer fabrics and relaxed styling. Bold prints including zebra, polka dots, and stars appeared throughout the lineup, while the color palette combined lilac, pink, navy, black, and red.
Evening looks included transparent black playsuits and backless slip dresses layered with visible lingerie. Accessories such as oversized hats, oval sunglasses, fingerless gloves, layered chain necklaces, and novelty bags reinforced the collection’s eccentric mood. Hair was styled into messy faux dreadlocks inspired by the reggae soundtrack, while makeup remained natural and understated.
