In his Fall 2025 Haute Couture collection, Elie Saab opened a macaron box of colors, offering a sugary tribute to the iconic Marie Antoinette with pastel hues of pinks, pistachio, mint, and meringue. Titled “The New Court”, Saab brought together playful excess and youth-driven eccentricity with dramatic volumes and sumptuous textures.
Inspired by Sofia Coppola’s cult classic Marie Antoinette, Saab revisits the opulent 18th century with a fresh twist. The collection features exquisite tailoring, rich French fabrics (like delicate lace from Lyon and whisper-thin jacquards), and layered materials that add drama, volume, and a modern flair to traditional couture.
The collection reimagines volume with sculpted skirts, capes, and silk arm shrugs, while nods to the era’s fashion—like 18th-century-style culottes—are paired with a youthful, contemporary edge. Each piece embodies the “princess treatment,” bringing Marie Antoinette’s lavishness to a new generation.
The minimalist trend? Over. Elie Saab is pushing boundaries with bold, extravagant designs and a touch of pop culture magic, with Bow Wow Wow’s “I Want Candy” echoing through the soundtrack, paying homage to both the movie and the timeless, playful spirit of youth.
