As I continue to discover entrants into the digital NFT art genre, more and more artists are pulling us into their magical worlds and it’s sublime! Many are working with global brands promoting products to transport us into a dreamy utopia. I imagine that the reason this has become such a growing segment, is that life for many of us has become overwhelming. These stunning other-worldly images and environments have a calming, relaxing effect. They speak to the viewer and seem to say: take a breath, chill for a moment, dream a while. Many of the images also include seating configurations signaling the viewers to sit down, engage in conversation, and take time to contemplate our surroundings.
Leave a comment if this week’s highlighted artist works transport you to a meditative universe.
Enjoy the weekend and Happy 4th of July!
Paul Milinski is a Melbourne-based digital artist and designer. Milinski specializes in creating emotive, dreamlike, and high-end spatial experiences through creative direction, 3D and architectural visualizations, motion design, and virtual reality.
“Paul’s work inspires current and upcoming designers and artists and is studied by students across the globe. He believes that digital art is just as genuine artistic expression as any other form of art, and we are only at the beginning of the most significant art movement in history.”
Jenny M. Jiang is a New Zealander based in New York City who’s works are visually engaging and expressive. Jenny’s images usually incorporate a vibrant, happy color palette.
The images tell creative stories with a dreamy feel, delivering the beauty that surrounds us with “a sense of joy and a pinch of playfulness”.
Hugo Fournier is a French art director and 3D artist based in Paris. He loves to tell stories through his artworks.
As a digital artist, Fournier’s unconventional images depict his desire to flee. Hugo highlights: “I create spaces in which I would be happy to be, in which our everyday, ordinary objects are mixed with abstract shapes.”
French creative, James Tralie, works for NASA as a planetary science and video producer, helping to explain complex scientific planetary discoveries through his camera lens. His understanding of the planets might explain how his digital images capture light in just the right way to shine through his utopian windows.
James explains his work “Spring Renewal” displayed above: “Spring Renewal was designed to give the viewer a sense of relaxation, peace, and nostalgia. I began developing this series at the beginning of the pandemic, and have enjoyed seeing the joy it has brought in a time of darkness. I hope this piece gives you pause and allows you to take a breath of fresh air and recognize where you are in this moment.”
As you celebrate American Independence Day, I’ll leave you with this quote: “Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist.” — Stephen Hawking
