For his latest resort collection, Huishan Zhang draws inspiration from the legendary Chinese socialite and art patron Song Huai-Kuei—known to many as Madame Song. A style icon and cultural bridge between East and West, Song played a key role in introducing Pierre Cardin to China and opening up the world of European fashion to Chinese women.
Zhang, whose own work was featured in last year’s Madame Song exhibition at Hong Kong’s M+ museum, pays homage with a collection that fuses elegance and modern practicality. His international clientele—women who move effortlessly between continents and occasions—will find travel-friendly pastel neoprenes, feather-trimmed dresses, crystal web eveningwear, and tailoring adorned with jewel-like embellishments inspired by Song’s own storied accessory collection.
