For Spring 2008, Stefano Pilati presented a collection for Yves Saint Laurent centered on modern tailoring and structural innovation.
The runway featured blazers, cap-sleeved vests, and hip-length jackets paired with high-waisted, ankle-cropped trousers in muted tones such as blue, gray, and chino beige. Asymmetry was explored through one-sleeved skirts, blouses, and dresses, while subtle darting added movement and shape to classic silhouettes.
Materials included 1930s-inspired satin and reflective chain-linked elements, introducing textural and visual contrast. The collection combined preppy references with motifs inspired by goddesses and stars, creating a cohesive narrative through fabric, cut, and proportion.
